Support options, without pressure or hidden expectations

3 Formats:

  • 1:1 Somatic Movement Sessions

  • Group Awareness Through Movement® Classes

  • Online Pre-recorded Lesson Library (Patreon)

What all options have in common

All offerings are:

  • Gentle, body-based, and non-verbal

  • Grounded in the Feldenkrais Method®

  • Trauma-informed and consent-centered

  • LGBTQIA2S+ affirming

  • Adaptable for chronic illness, hypermobility, and fluctuating energy

  • Designed to reduce masking, not require it

You’re never asked to push through pain, perform, explain yourself, or “do it right.”

There isn’t one “right” way to do this work.

Different nervous systems need different levels of support, structure, and flexibility — especially during burnout, chronic illness, or times of high demand.

Below are the current ways to work together. You’re welcome to read through them slowly and see what feels most supportive right now.

There’s no obligation to choose anything today. You can always change your mind.

You can try a lesson to see what it feels like:

You don’t need to do the whole lesson, and you can revisit the recording any time you like.

One-to-One Somatic Movement Sessions

Who this is for

This option may be supportive if you:

  • Want personalized, attuned support

  • Are navigating burnout, chronic pain, or sensory overload

  • Need help sensing what’s happening in your body in real time

  • Want support with boundaries, self-advocacy, or decision-making

  • Have tried other approaches that relied too heavily on talking or effort

What sessions are like

In 1:1 sessions, we work gently with:

  • Small, comfortable movements

  • Attention and sensing (not analysis)

  • Rest, pauses, and choice

Online sessions are guided verbally, but you are never required to talk about your feelings, name sensations, or explain what you’re experiencing. In-person sessions generally involve touch, but can be verbally guided if preferred.

You’re encouraged to:

  • Not look at the screen

  • Fidget or stim if you like

  • Do what you need to take care of yourself

  • Rest whenever you like

What people often notice over time

  • Feeling calmer and more regulated

  • Earlier awareness of stress, pain, or overwhelm

  • Increased trust in body signals

  • Less crashing after social or sensory demands

  • Greater ease with boundaries and self-advocacy

If you’re interested in 1:1 sessions, I recommend scheduling a Discovery Call so we can discuss your needs, you can ask any questions, and you can see if it feels like the right fit to you.

Practical Details for Online 1:1 Sessions

  • Format/location: Online, verbally guided

  • Initial session (option to try before committing): $150, 75 minutes

  • Package: 6 x 60-minute sessions over 2 months - $900 (payment plans available)

  • Availability: I work with a very small number of 1:1 clients at a time to ensure care and sustainability. Appointments are available Monday through Wednesday, 10am-5pm Eastern.

You’ll find a quiet spot in your home where you can lie on the floor in view of your camera. Depending on what feels supportive for your body that day, we may also work in sitting or standing, or you can lie on your bed if needed.

I’ll verbally guide you through personalized movements that help you sense your unique patterns, explore different variations, and find easier, more comfortable ways to move. There’s no need for you to look at the screen or describe any of your sensations. You’re encouraged to rest whenever you like and do whatever you need to take care of yourself.

Sessions are quiet, unhurried, and responsive to what’s happening in your body in real time. We work gently and moment by moment, following your needs, capacity, and curiosity rather than a fixed plan or outcome.

Practical Details for In-person 1:1 Sessions

A woman is giving a back massage to a man lying face down on a massage table in a room with wooden walls and a large window.
  • Format/location: Hands-on in Rosman, North Carolina

  • Initial session (option to try before committing): $150, 75 minutes

  • Package: 6 x 60-minute sessions over 2 months - $900 (payment plans available)

  • Availability: I work with a very small number of 1:1 clients at a time to ensure care and sustainability. Appointments are available Monday through Wednesday, 10am-5pm Eastern.

In-person 1:1 sessions (also known as Functional Integration® or FI) happen with you lying fully clothed on a low, padded table designed for this work. Depending on what feels supportive for your body that day, we may also work sitting or standing. I’ll guide you in movement lessons using gentle, non-invasive touch as the primary means of communication.

I may use simple props like pillows, rollers, or pads to support comfort, reduce effort, or make a movement easier to sense. Nothing is done to you — everything is an invitation, and we adjust as we go. You’re always welcome to stop or change your mind, and we can always find a different way to do things.

  • Alex has such an intelligent and gentle manner about her that it was with full confidence that I put myself in her hands. She helped ease my movement and made me aware of the body’s alignment and how to adjust it. She and Feldenkrais really made a difference.

    — Susan

  • Alex’s classes are very peaceful and there’s no stress or pressure. That quiet hour each class is itself something I treasure. I’d been through physical therapy, chiropractic, and even steroid shots with no relief. A simple class with reaching and trying to move in different ways gave me relief by the next day.

    — Kim

  • After just one session [with Alex], I immediately noticed a positive change and improvement in my posture and the way I move. At one point in particular I remember feeling my entire spine move. It was an entirely new sensation and I couldn't help but smile and laugh as I realized that it is supposed to feel that way...the movement was so easy! I can't wait for my next FI lesson.

    — James, Woodwind Specialist, Touring Musician

  • Alex has helped me deal with some complicated physical issues and given me great insight into managing my neurological pain and working to regain my sensory perception and the use of my body.

    — Dan, Musician

  • For more than a decade my body’s been in pretty immense disrepair. It seems so obvious to me now—having had the opportunity to learn about Feldenkrais from [Alex] who’s quite demonstratively a skilled practitioner. It’s a mesmerizing blend of subtlety and mindfulness. I’m sure I’d be in an impossibly different place without it.

    — Jim

  • Alex's guidance allows me to slow down and be mindful of my body. I appreciate how her instruction does not distract from the experience--instead, it enhances it. Feldenkrais is a practice that is truly understood through experiencing it, and I highly recommend giving it a go!
